Like Abraham, I'm looking for a city, which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. I'm looking for God's people living under God's rule in God's way.
Some years ago a song got stuck in my heart. It was written and performed by John Michael Talbot. It contained the words, "Go rebuild my temple. Build it with living stones. Build on the faith of the fathers. Build with Jesus..." It were as if God were speaking to me personally. I didn't understand, but a passion for the Church was born in me.
Since then, I've had life experiences that have shown me the face of Christ in His followers and I've been changed. Since then I've had life experiences that have lived up to the worst stereotypes given to us by the world, and I've been charged with a passion, saying, "This is not right! This is not what God had in mind."
This blog is my response to my dialog with scripture, the Holy Spirit, and others who long for an "Acts" Church. And I say "dialog" with intent, because I believe in asking questions, listening and abandoning preconceptions when those preconceptions are based on wrong conceptions.
